Cala Violina beach is a beautiful cove hidden in Bandite di Scarlino natural reserve on a tuscan coast near the tourist port of Punta Ala that spreads through the municipalities of Castiglione della Pescaia, Follonica, Gavorrano and Scarlino, covering the region that stretches from the hills, adorned by Monte d’Alma, to the shores of the sea at the famous Cala Violina and Cala Martina.
The reserve offers trails that often follow the natural contours of the land and that allow to explore in full respect of nature, offering spectacular views, particulary of the sea and Elba island. In this natural heritage there are perfect horse paths to live an unforgettable experience!
In this infinite landscape that will fill your heart with wonder there are some special coves hidden: Cala Francese, Cala Martina, Cala Civette and the most knowed Cala Violina a beach as beautiful as those of Salento: it is closed on both sides by headlands, it is long and narrow, its send is bright, light brown mixed with yellow, heavy and the water is one of the clearest in Maremma. Here you can take a refreshing swim or a well-deserved moment of relaxation in the area marked by a long stretch immersed in the holm oak forest.

2-HOURS RIDE
2-hours horseback riding completely immersed in a postcard
3-HOURS
2-hours saddle + 1-hour at Cala Violina
Starting from the stable, we ride for about 1 hour
to get to the entrance of Cala Violina.
Break on the beach of about 1 hour
while horses wait for us in a holm oak forest.
Once back on the saddle, the horseback ride to return to the stable lasts approximately 1 hour
DAILY RIDE
horseback riding + swimming in the sea + pic-nic on the beach
9.30 am: meeting
10.00 am: ride starts. You ride in the reserve towards Cala Violina.
12.30 pm: you reach the holm oak forest adjacent to Cala Violina. Long stop on the beach or in the holm oak forest.
3.00 pm/3.30 pm: meeting and departure on horseback
4.00 pm/5.00 pm: return to the stables
This program and riding hours can change based on the season and on the experience of the group
Italian horses and mostly Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas and Criollos, all surefooted, versatile and perfect for trail riding.
Comfortable, Western saddles, also Billy Cook, and a mixture of snaffle and shank bit bridles, all tailored to the individual horses.
Specific difficulties: Beginner to advanced
Places: Southern Tuscany (Grosseto province).

dress code
Recomended jeans and sneakers. Short pants and open shoes or platforms are not allowed.
Backpack and scarves are not allowed because they can framed in the branches, it’s possible to bring a belt bag.
